So...this is Christmas...In exactly 55 minutes from now it will be Christmas...joy. It's not that I don't like Christmas, it's just it's become so materialistic it's almost as disgusting as Valentines day (Thank you hallmark...you sons of bitches).
What is Christmas all about now anyways? Way back in the day it was the birth of Christ. Now if you ask anyone on the street who isn't a hardcore bible lover it's all about the presents. I don't know who to place the blame on for that, I mean, it's not that I don't like to presents...it just doesn't feel like it did when I was a kid, except for the time I spend with my family, Christmas has kind lost meaning.
When I was a kid, Christmas was the best holiday ever...I'd stay up most of the night waiting to hear the jingle of bells on my roof, and the clattering of the reindeer's hooves as they came in for a landing, and after the thud of Santa's sleigh filled with toys for all the good little girls and boys around the world. The magic of Christmas kind of dissipated when I found something out that I had believed in for years wasn't real...and I wasn't supposed to tell my sibling..or else they'd find out the awful truth...The fabled fat man in the red suit with the snow white beard who we behaved all year long for, in fear of getting a lump of coal instead of the toys we wrote to him for, was all a lie. A ploy put on by our parents to make the holiday seem more magical.
Well...let me tell you something about Santa Claus that may shock and depress you...Santa was originally portrayed wearing bishop's robes, in modern times, Santa Claus is generally depicted as a plump, jolly, white-bearded man wearing a red coat with white collar and cuffs, white-cuffed red trousers, and black leather belt and boots.
